The move occurred as rumors surfaced about the Cavaliers attempting to get Paul George in a trade from the Indiana Pacers and Jimmy Butler from the Chicago Bulls. On the one-year anniversary of the Cavaliers winning their first National Basketball Association title and ending the once legendary Cleveland Sports Curse, the team was without the man who was the architect of that championship winning team.

Former Denver Nuggets guard Chauncey Billups is rumored to be targeted by Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert to replace General Manager David Griffin.

He's also leaving three days before the draft and on the eve of free agency.

With such an unexpected turn of events for the 2016 NBA Champions, it leaves the team at a serious crossroads.

How's this for a insane fact? He was praised as a magician by coach Tyronn Lue, but the Cavs failed to make a commitment to Griffin while wrapping up others last summer, including giving Lue a five-year, $35 million extension.

It has been reported that the Cavs and former Detroit Pistons great, Chauncey Billups and Dan Gilbert will talk soon. If Gilbert is intrigued by a leader like Billups, he needs a savvy executive to sit alongside him. He likened the ending to a "no-fault divorce", pointing out that Gilbert did indeed tender an offer to Griffin - the details of which are not known - which Griffin walked away from.

In addition to the low scores, Michael Bay has gone on record to say that The Last Knight is his final Transformers project. Cade stops a Decepticon from swinging a sword down on Optimus Prime by using some magical sword he has to block it.

Wojnarowski cited Billups's relationship with Gilbert and Cleveland Coach Tyronn Lue, whose own career as an National Basketball Association point guard overlapped with that of Billups, as factors that could land him a job in which he would hire the team's newest GM.

- Billups a possible new GM? Lue often praised the moves Griffin made with no real assets with which to work. Could Gilbert have a different vision that involves the long-rumored Kevin Love for Carmelo Anthony swap? Right now the team is still trying to negotiate trades with Assitant GM Koby Altman and Gilbert running the show.

Multiple reports stated James was not consulted about the decision to let Griffin go, and Bleacher Report said James is "disappointed" with Griffin's departure and "concerned" about what the move means for the Cavaliers. Even after winning a title, the relationship between Gilbert and James has been tenuous at best.

While it doesn't seem like a big thing, this could be something that could make LeBron leave the Cavaliers next year.

When LeBron says jump, the Cavs usually leap.
