The FBI is investigating as an "act of terrorism" a knife attack on a MI airport police officer Wednesday by a man yelling "Allahu Akbar". "What we do know is that Mr. Ftouhi entered the airport, he spent a little time on the first level".
Ftouhi also said something similar to "you have killed people in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, and we are all going to die", according to a criminal complaint filed against him on Wednesday.
According to a criminal complaint, Ftouhi yelled in Arabic "Allahu Akbar" [God is great] before stabbing Lieutenant Jeff Neville of the airport's Department of Public Safety.
A Bishop International Airport officer was stabbed earlier today, Wednesday, June 21, in an incident which officials fear may be terror-related. He's recovering at a hospital.
Although officials do not deny that terrorism is a possibility they are looking into, they do not want citizens of Flint, Michigan to panic as there is still the likelihood that this was an "isolated incident". An FBI spokesperson said Ftouhi entered the US on June 16 by a land border in Lake Champlain, N.Y. and arrived at the airport Wednesday morning.
US Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement that an attack on law enforcement would be "investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law".
"I would see him at least once a month, when he paid his rent", said Luciano Piazza.
The FBI official said the suspect appeared to be a "lone wolf" attacker.
