Lionsgate has announced that Saw 8, formerly called Saw: Legacy, will now be titled Jigsaw, a reference to the Tobin Bell's iconic character who, after learning of an inoperable frontal lobe tumor, created a series of horrific traps to help "lost" individuals rediscover their passion again. 2010's Saw 3D, the first to abandon Roman numerals, was also the first to have a subtitle: The Final Chapter. Neither Costas Mandylor nor Cary Elwes are expected to return to their respective roles in the franchise...though with this being the Saw franchise, one never knows. The popular horror franchise focused around the villainous Jigsaw will be getting its eighth installment this October.
Jigsaw has been dead several movies back in the horror franchise, but when has that ever stopped the murderous villain?
The synopsis for Jigsaw reads: "Dead bodies begin to turn up all over the city, each meeting their demise in a variety of grisly ways". Jigsaw is directed by Predestination and Daybreakers helmers Peter and Michael Spierig from a script by Pete Goldfinger, Josh Stolberg, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell.
F-16 Jet Catches Fire at Houston Airport; Pilot Ejects
The Houston Fire Department says in a statement that crews were dispatched to assist with a "downed plane" late Wednesday morning. Lozano said the pilot has been taken to the hospital but did not have any information on the pilot's condition.
Still, the Saw movies are known for their twists and unexpected happenings, so really, who knows what's going to happen with Jigsaw?
The first seven "Saw" films grossed more than $870 million worldwide combined. Or has an apprentice picked up the mantle of Jigsaw, perhaps even someone inside the investigation?' I always found something fun about the seasonal serialized event even if numerous films were not great.
