Based on the 2013 book of the same name by David Finkel, the feature includes an adapted screenplay by "American Sniper" scribe Jason Hall, who makes his directorial debut here.

Miles Teller has a knack for getting interesting roles.

In case it wasn't already clear from the tone of the trailer itself, Universal is already setting up Thank You For Your Service to be a possible award contender later this year, with a late-October release date that puts it smack dab in the middle of awards season. Steven Spielberg actually considered directing this film himself before moving on, and Hall seems to have a solid handle on the material. See the potent new trailer below. PTSD stories don't have to be all doom and gloom as long as they're treating the characters and material with respect. The cast also consists of Scott Haze (Midnight Special), Joe Cole (Peaky Blinders), Kate Lyn Sheil (Outcast) and, in atypical dramatic fashion, Amy Schumer (Trainwreck).

We got lucky in Origin I: Daley
