Time will tell, but it's hard to see the Xbox One X being a blistering success story right out of the gate.
Microsoft is releasing "Forza Motorsport 7" ahead of the Xbox One X - it will take advantage of the console's ability to play games in 4K.
You might think it's insane that Microsoft is once again introducing a new game console with a $500 price.
In an interview conducted by Polygon at E3 2017, Microsoft's Mike Ybarra (Corporate VP of Xbox and Windows Gaming) explained that the Xbox One X could have certainly been priced lower, but that would have compromised its target as a premium console. Microsoft could have doubled down and announced a ton of new games that capitalize on the hardware capabilities and in turn, give the Xbox One brand a much-needed second wind.
One might think that the console's $499 price tag would also be something that would put off potential buyers, as it's a full hundred dollars more expensive than the Playstation 4 Pro.
However, while the Xbox One X is capable of supporting virtual reality gaming, there was nearly no mention of this during the presentation and no demonstrations of games that use VR headsets.

The PlayStation 5, no matter when it arrives, is said to be the powerful gaming console ever built, with more than 10 teraflops of graphical power. We'll sell more S's than X's, because the price point is important to a lot of people.
That PC-style scaling doesn't necessarily mean console gamers will get fine control over graphical options in their Xbox games, though.
It will launch on one console as well as on PC, with other consoles coming at a later date.
But that's not unusual. Even those games seem like storage hogs, but a 100GB day-one occupancy is going to make for some serious storage concerns going forward.
By looking at Sony's history of console launches, we think that the PS5 will be released before 2020. The company says that Pro purchases now make up about 20% of all PlayStation 4 sales. The One S comes in white variant only, meanwhile, more likely the One X will be available in black only for the time being.
From where he's sitting, though, that wouldn't be a problem.
