Reports indicate Beyonce and Jay Z's twins have been born

Beyoncé's reportedly estranged father, Mathew Knowles, also chimed in with a congratulatory tweet, but no word yet from either the Knowles or Carter camps about the arrival of Bey and Jay's bundles of joy.

The superstar singer and her husband Jay Z reportedly welcomed their new twins nearly a week ago but a minor issue has kept them in hospital, TMZ claims.

It is usually a little hard for the oldest child to accept sharing their parents with the new family members.

"Bey and Jay are thrilled and have started sharing the news with their family and closest friends", a source told People magazine.

When an official confirmation of rumors that broke earlier in the week that Beyonce had given birth failed to come, fans began searching feverishly for clues. The day marked the Lemonade hitmaker's due date, and saw increased security at the medical centre.

Later Obama sent Jay Z a video message - in which he may have let slip the twins' gender. If Beyoncé and her twins are doing well, doctors "still prefer" to keep an eye on newborns.

"I would be happy with whatever God gives me". "I'm so excited. I can't wait", she said.

The power couple - who got married in 2008 - announced they were adding to their brood in February when the "Formation" hitmaker posted a photograph of her burgeoning baby bump on her social networking sites. She didn't go dark altogether, however, and even hosted a "Carter Push Party" in May to celebrate their impending birth.
