"However, one of the most exciting announcements was the upcoming port of Psyonix' top-rated vehicular soccer video game, "#Rocket League", for the #Nintendo Switch. Even more surprising was that the team was actually testing the game out for Switch a year ago! Today, Rocket League was announced as working cross-platform between Switch, Xbox and PC.
Nintendo's new home and portable console, the Switch, appears to be on track for a strong first year, supported by successive releases of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and soon Splatoon 2.
Rocket League was originally released on the PlayStation 4 back in 2015 and instantly became a hit for its adrenaline fueled motor madness.
Speaking with US Gamer, Psyonix vice president Jeremy Dunham explained, "There's probably someone from Psyonix talking to someone from Sony every day". Sony reiterated at E3, however, that it isn't interested in permitting PS4 owners to play with consumers on other consoles. With games like this, the Nintendo Switch should continue to pick up speed.

The leader of the free world followed by revealing the very lovely goal of the meeting: to applaud his administration . The whole thing reminded me of a scene directly from the boardroom of " The Apprentice ".
As to the reason why Sony is not allowing cross play with both the Switch and the Xbox On, PlayStation marketing head Jim Ryan gave a frankly unconvincing answer. "I will jump on another grenade for this one, but... the fact that somebody would kind of make the assertion that somehow we're not keeping Minecraft players safe, I found not only from a Microsoft perspective, but a game industry perspective, I don't know why that has to be the dialog". "There are no technical limitations".
Dunham reiterated that if this is something that the community is clamouring for, they need to be vocal about it. "In reality it's a web page with a checkbox on it".
Earlier this week, it was revealed that while Minecraft and Rocket League were getting cross-platform play across several platforms, PlayStation 4 wasn't one of them. From our perspective, we've done everything we need to do.
On the subject of security measures that Psyonix has taken, Dunham said, "We think we've got it all covered..."
