US President Donald Trump has mocked FBI investigators of not being able to find any evidence related to the probe of a possible collusion between his team and Russian Federation during 2016 Presidential election.
The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Mueller is investigating Trump for obstruction, a notion that Trump and his lawyer Marc Kasowitz strongly denounced Thursday.
Former FBI chief James Comey's testimony has clearly stated that Trump tried to stop the investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
Christopher Ruddy, a friend of the president's, on Monday first said that Trump had been "weighing" whether to fire Mueller, who was appointed by Rosenstein after Trump fired Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey in May.
Comey told the Senate Intelligence Committee on June 8 he believed Trump had directed him in February to drop an FBI probe into former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, that was part of the broader Russian Federation investigation.
The Washington Post, citing unidentified officials, has reported that special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating U.S President Donald Trump for a possible obstruction of justice as part of the widening probe. Trump had previously boasted that he was not personally under investigation, and Comey said the president had repeatedly pressured him to publicly clear him.
Mueller continues to hire a team of lawyers, and with FBI investigators is gathering information that is widely expected to lead to a formal investigation into whether President Trump attempted to interfere in the investigation.
Interestingly, the infamous pee tape claims and allegations regarding Russian Federation investigation did not bother Trump after the release of James Comey's testimony.
Kohli turns off social media ahead of Pakistan clash
India and Pakistan rarely compete at cricket, the game which dominates both the sporting and cultural landscape in both countries. Their strength was their bowling, and the ability to take wickets, especially through the middle overs when teams consolidate.
The new allegations against Trump center on his own admission that he fired Comey because of the Russian Federation investigation, and suggestions he asked several top intelligence officials for their help altering the inquiry's direction.
However, since the table is turned now, Trump is feeling like "he is the victim of a conspiracy aimed at discrediting his presidency and ultimately ending his tenure of the White House". Shortly after Trump fired Comey, a Justice Department official tapped Mueller to take up the investigation as a special counsel.
He confirmed the Times report from May 11 that Trump asked for his "loyalty" during a dinner in January, and that he had brought up Trump asking to meet with him alone to Attorney General Jeff Sessions but received no reply.
The rising criticism puts a new focus on the relationships between the president, special counsel and the Justice Department, especially as questions loom over whether Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will recuse himself from overseeing Mueller's probe.
What do you think of the current turn of events in the White House?
Donald Trump calls the Washington Post report that he was under investigation the single greatest witch hunt is United States history.
The investigation is now being helmed by Robert S. Mueller III, who is not publicly disclosing information about his work. "Nice", Trump wrote in his first tweet. He said this week he had not found reason to do so - making the statement in the days after Trump's friends raised the possibility that the president himself was thinking of "terminating" Mueller.
