That report makes clear that three senior intelligence officers - Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers and and former NSA deputy director Richard Ledgett - are being interviewed this week by special counsel Bob Mueller as he looks into whether Trump obstructed justice in the Russian Federation case.

"They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story", he wrote on Twitter.

The president expressed annoyance about news reports that the probe is now believed to include an examination of whether he obstructed justice by firing FBI Director James Comey, who had earlier led the Russian Federation investigation.

An aide to Vice President Mike Pence revealed on Thursday that he was hiring Richard Cullen a veteran of the Iran-Contra investigation, Watergate and the 2000 vote recount in Florida as a private lawyer. "Officials say that changed shortly after Comey's firing".

The widened Russian Federation probe could have far-reaching repercussions for Trump's presidency, transforming his closest aides into witnesses and sucking yet more political oxygen out of the West Wing. The Washington Post report suggests that scrutiny has been folded into the special counsel office, and includes Kushner's business dealings, though it offers no details on what that scrutiny is.

As for when he talked with the Senate intelligence committee, Jess Sessions told them that he and deputy Attorney General Ross Rosenstein were considering removing James Comey from his position, considering that it was time for a "fresh start" in the organization, but before both of them were confirmed to their current positions.

Comey said he believed Mueller would look into Trump for obstruction of justice.

In his testimony, Director Comey called the media "seagulls chasing bread crumbs" who nearly always get it wrong when citing unnamed sources.

4th Day For Jurors In Minnesota Trial Over Motorist Shooting
The police video begins in silence as Yanez followed a white Oldsmobile auto driven by Castile on a wide, lightly-traveled road. The jury has been deliberating for 2 ½ days in the manslaughter trial of Officer Jeronimo (yeh-RON'-ih-moh) Yanez.

Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Trump's legal team, denounced the Post report, saying on Wednesday: "The FBI leak of information regarding the president is outrageous, inexcusable and illegal." .

Grassley announced the investigation in a letter to California Sen. White House officials said the president is not considering such a step.

Mueller also has the authority to investigate whether Trump tried to obstruct justice amid mounting evidence that he pressured the FBI to drop an investigation into his former national security advisor, Mike Flynn.

Honestly, I really hope he does try to fire him.

Before that, Trump seemed to question why Clinton wasn't being investigated for ties to Russia-despite the fact that US intelligence agencies concluded that the country interfered in the election with the goal of helping Trump win.

"It is my view that fully investigating the facts, circumstances, and rationale for Comey's removal will provide us the opportunity to do that on a cooperative, bipartisan basis".

Mr Trump later denied the claim labelling his former Federal Bureau of Investigation boss a "liar'".
