Warriors reportedly will skip visit to Trump's White House

Based on at least one report, from CNBC, the Warriors might skip the traditional trip to the White House to celebrate Monday night's NBA Finals-clinching victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers to regain the NBA Championship with a 4-1 series win.

Warriors' statement: "We have not received an invitation to the White House, but will make those decisions when and if necessary". "We will make those decisions when and if needed", a team spokesman wrote in an email Tuesday morning.

Some members of the Super Bowl-champion New England Patriots refused their White House visit and ceremony earlier this year. And David West said this of Trump back in January.

In February, after Under Armour's CEO Kevin Plank declared Trump "an asset" to the country, Warriors point guard Steph Curry, an Under Armour spokesman, didn't mince words: "I agree with that description", he said.

The #Golden State Warriors are the 2017 National Basketball Association champions, and with that accomplishment comes the customary White House invitation.
