Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Tuesday reclaimed the title of world's best one-day global batsman, buoyed by two half centuries registered while steering his side into the Champions Trophy semi-finals. But with brilliant knocks of 81 not out against Pakistan and 76 not out against South Africa, Kohli leapfrogged de Villiers and Warner into the number one spot.
Kohli, who is now ahead of David Warner by just one point, had briefly enjoyed the top ODI ranking in January 2017.
Meanwhile Shikhar Dhawan has returned to the top 10 after scoring a century and two 50s in the three matches so far.
Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood, for the first time in his career, rose to the top of the bowlers' charts on the back of solid displays in the Champions Trophy, despite his side crashing out at the group stage. Opener Dhawan's rise however meant that Rohit Sharma and Mahendra Singh Dhoni slipped a place each.
Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has led the charge of India's bowlers by vaulting 13 places to share 23rd spot with Afghanistan's Hamza Hotak. Umesh Yadav moved up two spots to stand in the 41st rank and Jasprit Bumrah gained three places to be 43rd.
