Several farmer bodies today held protests in Haryana over the killing of five persons in police firing during protests in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh. In such scenario expecting peace in state and justice to its people remains a question. Mandsaur Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Singh said the curfew has been lifted from all the three police station areas of the Mandsaur city where it was imposed.
Chouhan began his indefinite fast on Saturday, asserting he would lay down his life for farmers.
"I will sit on indefinite fast from 11 am tomorrow at Dussehra Maidan for restoration of peace", he said.
Chouhan also made it clear that there is no limit to the purchase of onions or other produce.
However, no protest, rally or demonstration will be allowed during the curfew relaxation period, including on Sunday when farmers have announced a protest, collector O P Srivastava said. Then the Centre had announced a loan write-off for small and marginal farmers in the state with holdings of up to two hectares and a loan rebate for those with more than two hectares.
Then too, the chief minister succeeded in deflecting onto the Centre the heat he faced regarding the plight of farmers.

The distress has prompted thousands of farmers in the states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh to take to the streets and call for crop loan waivers and increased prices for their crops.
Opposition parties, including Congress, had called the CM's move a "drama". "I must say that the state government is capable of providing financial assistance to farmers and we can bear it", he said. "Your labour won't go waste", the Chief Minister promised. While initially the farmers destroyed produce and drained milk, the protests became more violent as vehicles were torched. Kar also said that apathy towards the farming community by successive governments over the years has led to a deep crisis.
But experts say loan waivers amount to quick fixes and they can not tackle the structural flaws in farm policies, which have encouraged higher production of crops previously in short supply but offered scant protection on prices.
He was performing his fast at the Dussehra Maidan in Bhopal since Saturday.
Earlier, this year Awas Adhikar Adhiniyam' Bill for the welfare of landless tribals and homeless people was put into figure after strenuous efforts of peaceful movements done under his leadership in various parts of the State in which good number of tribal farmers participated. "Those who are seeking credit should go to the villages and educate farmers about how to prepare their documents for loan waiver".
