In what has been a somewhat interesting breakup, wide receiver Eric Decker has been officially cut by the New York Jets, who recently made it clear that they would be moving on from the veteran in the form of a trade or release. NY cut linebacker David Harris last Tuesday after 10 seasons, and general manager Mike Maccagnan also announced that the Jets would be parting ways with Decker.

However, the Ravens signed Jeremy Maclin to a two-year deal earlier on Monday, per NFL.com, which must have given the Jets no other choice but to release Decker.

The 30-year-old wideout was one of the Jets' top playmakers and red-zone threats during his time in NY.

Decker sustained a torn rotator cuff and a torn labrum in his hip, limiting him to just three games last season. He had just nine receptions a year ago. "The 6'3", 214-pound Decker returned to the team's offseason program as a full participant.
A third-round pick of the Broncos in 2010, he has amassed 385 receptions, 5,253 receiving yards and 74 touchdowns in his career. The Jets signed him to a five-year, $36.25 million in March 2014.
In seven National Football League seasons he has 385 receptions for 5,253 yards and 52 touchdowns.
