Qatar says sanctions violate global law

It said Tillerson and Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani "discussed bilateral relations and means of enhancing them as well as the situation and the latest developments" in a crisis between it and Arab countries.

Qatar said the terror listing is part of "baseless allegations that hold no foundation in fact".

Qatar is not ready to change its foreign policy to resolve a dispute with fellow Gulf Arab states and will never compromise, Qatar's foreign minister said on Thursday.

Qatar was importing 80 percent of its food requirements from bigger Gulf Arab neighbours before they cut ties with the nation of 2.5 million people last week. Qatar expressed regret over this decision calling it groundless.

In declaring this statement The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and the Kingdom of Bahrain "reaffirm their appreciation of partner states that have supported efforts to counter terrorism, extremism and violence, and call for continued and renewed efforts and cooperation in defeating the scurge of terrorism and its bad impact on the global community".

Each of these planes carries around 90 tons of cargo, the Iranian official noted, adding that another plane will also be sent today.

"People from across the region - not only from Qatar, but also from the states implementing these measures - risk losing jobs and having their education disrupted".
