Mili Hernandez, a young girl from Omaha in Nebraska, was preparing to compete in a local girls tournament with her team.
A girls' soccer tournament reportedly disqualified a team because an 8-year-old player "looks like a boy". Her family brought several forms of identification, including her insurance card and a doctor's physical form, to prove she's a girl, but the team was still disqualified.
He went on to say what they did to Mili might also have something to do with race. "I didn't like my hair long", Mili said.
Mili Hernandez's team had advanced to the tournament's final day Sunday when it was suddenly disqualified.
"They just weren't listening", said Mili. "They said the president made his decision and there wasn't any changing that", her uncle said.

Mili believes the organizers' actions to be unfair, as they're judging her completely for her appearance rather than looking at the facts.
"Just because I can't play here, there's other tournaments that I can play", Mili said. "Mili, don't EVER let anyone tell you that you aren't flawless just as you are.i won championships with short hair", Wambach wrote. She's so good that she plays on the 11 year-old roster even though she's 8.
If Mili's family wants to challenge the disqualification, they said, they can try to appeal with the Nebraska State Soccer Association. She's won gold medals and a World Cup, and U.S Soccer Player of the Year and FIFA Player of the Year.
Mili's story soon caught the attention of major soccer stars, such as Mia Hamm, Abby Wambach, and Lydia Williams. Mili's father kept her hair short due to her active lifestyle, but when she got older, and he gave her the choice of choosing her own style, she stuck with it. Hamm has invited Hernandez to one of her soccer camps.
The Cachorros team have filed a complaint with the Nebraska State Soccer Association alleging both gender and racial discrimination.
