President Trump called former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James B. Comey a "leaker", and claimed that the June 8 Senate Intelligence Committee showed that there was no evidence he colluded with Russian officials or obstructed justice, at a news conference on June 9 at the White House.

Standing with the president of Romania, a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation partner, Trump at last confirmed his commitment to the alliance's mutual defense pact, Article 5, uttering words he deliberately did not say when he spoke at NATO's gathering in Belgium last month. "It doesn't make sense".

"Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication", Trump wrote, suggesting that Comey had committed perjury.

Mr. Trump, notorious for his social-media outbursts, remained muted during Thursday's hearing.

"No collusion, no obstruction", Trump told a White House press conference in reference to the twin controversies dogging his administration - accusations his aides colluded with the Russian effort to tilt the vote, and that he sought to block a probe related to the matter.

He said that he'd carefully documented his interactions with Trump because he anxious Trump would misrepresent them, and accused the administration of spreading "lies, plain and simple" about the reasons for his firing.

But "Fox & Friends" instead largely focused on Comey's admission that he directed a friend to share with a reporter the contents of memos he wrote documenting his meetings and conversations with the president.

At a press conference on Friday afternoon in the Rose Garden with the visiting president of Romania, Mr Trump rejected Mr Comey's claims.

The poll projected LREM could win as much as 427 out of 577 seats, the biggest estimate in any poll so far. The French Parliament is made up of two houses, the National Assembly and the Senate.

Trump claims Comey confirmed what he has said.

"I found him to be credible, candid and thorough", Collins said of Comey on MSNBC's "Morning Joe".

According to the reports, Comey told Congress that the president had not personally been under investigation while he was in the post. It was a curious move, for a couple of reasons. The president also said the investigation is an "excuse" by the Democrats before they lost the election. It is odd that Trump would concede the latter. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow'. You have to run up the whole east coast and you have to win everything as a Republican and that's what we did.

"But we will not back down from doing what is right".

'I don't know if there are tapes, ' he told George Stephanopoulos.

Richman, who is a professor at Columbia Law School, was reportedly connected to the Judiciary Committee through the office of Robert Mueller, the special counsel appointed to lead the investigation into possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation.

As he has before, Trump continued to blast mainstream news outlets.
