iOS's new dock, in particular, feels like it's come straight from the Mac. This will be our fastest and most powerful Mac ever, which brings workstation-class computing to iMac for the first time.

Apple just announced at the WWDC 2017 keynote some new features and products, where executives Craig Federighi, Phil Schiller and Tim Cook took the stage to announce the latest news. Apple said the system is designed for "advanced graphics editing, virtual reality content creation and real-time 3D rendering". The new 10.5-inch model reduces the borders by almost 40 percent to fit into an incredibly compact package that still weighs just one pound.

From the looks of it, this will be an incredibly powerful desktop for professionals and you can imagine that all this power does not come cheap. The base model iPad Pros ship with 64 GB of storage but can be ordered with up to 512 GB, a nice jump from the previous 256 GB max. Those are pretty beasty numbers, so here's hoping the fans do a good job of stopping the iMac Pro from an early death. The whole MacBook lineup has received better graphics, Kaby Lake processors and faster SSDS.

The iMac Pro will start at a base price of $4,999, and will rise accordingly based on the configuration of the model.

The swipable key feature, where you're able to drag down on a key to get a special character, was only present on the 10.5-inch iPad Pro.

Why the slightly larger screen?

But the most interesting aspect of this upgrade is that the Apple Pencil's latency will be reduced significantly. The keyboard might be getting smarter, but the display will not get touch support. In addition, the refresh rate varies depending on the kind of activity you carry out on the tablet, which is a nice touch added by Apple. Not that it felt laggy before.

The App Store has been redesigned for better navigation with a How To section for tips on how to use various apps. One of the biggest product announcements from the event was for the new 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models.

Finally, the insiders mentioned that Apple is testing a new design language for the iMac and/or MacBook that includes "more glass and dark black body".

What was your favourite part of WWDC 2017?

The scenery that I saw was a walkthrough of Hawaii, and it was fairly realistic with positional audio enhancing the effect.

When the latest Mac Pro was announced, Apple made a few bets on how hardware was going move (much like Microsoft did when they released Windows Vista). Apple are using the Radeon Pro Vega inside of the new iMac Pro, with 11 TFLOPS of single precision compute performance, and up to 22 TFLOPs of half precision performance. Xeon processors with up to 18 cores will be an option that you can choose from.

The new macOS also shows how you can offload video graphics processing to the graphics chip. Also, I imagine this means that's that for an updated Mac Pro.

Apple's HomePod attracted the biggest crowd at the WWDC hands-on area.

Additionally, it got a new home in the form of the HomePod (mentioned above) and is becoming a watchface for the Apple Watch with watchOS 4.

Oil prices increase amidst production cut, tensions in Middle East
Oil markets have been, for the last couple of weeks, cautious and slow to react to the positive news of crude oil inventory draws. OPEC must find ways to drain the deluge of oil in storage if it is serious about forcing an increase in global oil prices.
