US President Donald Trump at a media conference in the Rose Garden of the White House with the visiting president of Romania Klaus Iohannis.
"I hardly know the man", Trump said on Friday.
Earlier, Trump fired off an early morning tweet in which he said he had been "vindicated" by the James Comey hearing, adding that the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director was a "leaker".
After four weeks of the president and White House staff shirking and ducking the question from reporters, the House Intelligence Committee on Friday asked White House counsel Don McGahn to put the issue to rest and answer whether or not Trump recorded his conversations with Comey. "And some of the things that he said just weren't true".
He also said he did not ask Comey to drop his probe of Trump's former national security adviser, retired Gen. Michael Flynn, who resigned his post after misleading Vice President Mike Pence about conversations with Russian officials. Comey testified under oath.
When Comey explained to the pr*sident that the FBI had briefed lawmakers on who was under investigation, he had indeed told Trump that he wasn't a focus of the inquiry.
"Theres no question he abused power", Ms Pelosi said.

Qatar's 2022 FIFA World Cup is also at risk, as a multitude of critical construction projects will also face supply shortages. Far from being a force of moderation, Ahrar al-Sham has fought alongside Jabhat al-Nusra, also known as Al Qaeda in Syria.
[Trump] repeatedly told me, "We need to get that fact out". No, I didn't say that, and I didn't say the other. Tammy Duckworth simply said that Comey's testimony "should concern any American who respects the basic rule of law, and Ed Markey called for any tapes to be "immediately" given to Special Counsel".
"I've seen the tweet about tapes".
"You are going to be very disappointed when you hear the answer", he said a bit cryptically.
Mr Kasowitz said yesterday following the hearing that Mr Comey could be investigated for leaking information, and suggested he may have lied in his sworn Senate testimony.
Mr Comey painted a devastating picture of an untrustworthy president, who at best unknowingly shred the norms of office by pressing him on the Russian Federation probe, and at worst may have criminally obstructed justice. At the same time, the head of the panel said its investigation is just getting started, and a second committee may summon Comey to testify.
The President's tweet echoes the talking points used by Kasowitz and many Republicans as they responded to Comey's testimony.
