Lewis Hamilton happy to be back where it all began

There was a sense of urgency, but no panic, as Formula One world champions and self-proclaimed underdogs Mercedes prepared to take the fight to Ferrari at the Canadian Grand Prix on Thursday.

"Seb is one of the best drivers on the grid period, but he's absolutely one of the best when he has good equipment and a auto he has confidence in", Ricciardo told Fox Sports News. "And then, since then, just every year I come, I've just grown a lot with Canada and with Montreal, and the following has grown along the time, ten years, and so a lot of my time when I see get here is spectacular. We are all trying to preserve the current momentum that we have".

Vettel believes the SF70H has been very good so far and is hopeful of good performance in Montreal, but knows there is no guarantee that the team can succeed.

Mercedes are now 17 points behind Ferrari in the race for the 2017 Constructor's Championship while Hamilton trails Sebastian Vettel by 25 points in the driver standings.

Regarding Hamilton's comments, Raikkonen said: "I don't know how much he knows about other teams".

"But when it comes to that point in the season when a guy has a chance and the other guy doesn't have a chance, it's normal".

"We know what we do and sometimes this kind of thing happens, it's nothing unusual", he added.

"If people think I should be smiling that's up to them, I'll be smiling when I have the results from myself that I expect, simple as that".

"It was 16 years since Ferrari had won in the Principality, so I think victory was a liberation". "We'll try to maximize everything, go from the practice and see what it brings on Saturday and then on Sunday".

UAE bans sympathy for Qatar
Qatar firmly denies the allegations. "I think our relationship with Qatar is one that's strong. Secretary of State Rex W Tillerson talked about this today", she added.

Hamilton said: "We are working hard to rectify the issues we had in the last race and we will attack this race".

Vettel was also asked about claims from all sides last week that his strong involvement in the development of this year's Pirelli tyres has given Ferrari an obvious advantage.

"Every bad race we have we are losing points to Ferrari so for sure we need to pick up some pace, make the vehicle better, quicker, improve mechanically ... anything is going to help".

"I know what emotions he has when he wins with the reds", said the Frenchman. I was not happy finishing second, as simple as that.

"I have [worked out my plans] but it's nothing I need to share with any of you", he said.

"There are always a lot of rumours about my contract every year".

"It's none of your business - you keep writing anyway - so it doesn't change [anything]. We'll see what happens".

"What happened in Monaco is nothing to do with my contract".
