The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) agreed with the President saying, the incident in Resorts World Manila does not present "just cause" for imposing martial law in Metro Manila.
Atienza pointed out that casino security were "very strict and even rude" to ordinary casino-goers, "but when it came to this lone gunman, they were the first to flee".
Earlier on June 2, ISIS claimed it was behind the attack on Resorts World Manila.

"The message of what happened to my son is people should not get hooked on gambling so their families won't get destroyed", she said.
