Luciano Spalletti claims "everything is in place" for him to become the next coach of Inter Milan.

And following reports that Spalletti had headed out to China this week to meet with Inter's owners ahead of his move to the San Siro, the 58-year-old confirmed the deal was all but done.

"I'm one of those old fashioned types who does things with a shake of the hand".

Luciano Spalletti has become the fourth (permanent) manager to take charge of Inter Milan in the past year after signing a two-year deal, worth £3.5m per season.

Spalletti left Roma last week after guiding the Giallorossi to second place in Serie A and securing automatic qualification for next season's Champions League.

Spalletti has already thrashed out a contract with the club after discussions with Nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio and Chief Football Administrator Giovanni Gardini on Monday, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

There had been reports that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was considering coming to Inter, but Conte then announced he plans to remain with the Premier League champions.

Meanwhile, Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco (1/12) is set to replace Spalletti in the Roma dugout.

Inter finished seventh in the Italian league last month, missing out on a Europa League spot.

Former coach Stefano Pioli was sacked three games before the end of a turbulent Serie A campaign which first saw Roberto Mancini resign two weeks before the start of last season, and his replacement Frank de Boer fired after 85 days, with Inter finishing the season under interim coach Stefano Vecchi. Stefano Pioli guided the club until early May, when he was sacked toward the end of an eight-match winless streak.
