Erdogan repeated Ankara's criticism of President Donald Trump's decision, saying it ran counter to the two countries' strategic interests - but also sought to portray it as a relic of the Obama administration's Middle East policy.

The Kurdish fighters have faced opposition from Turkey in part due to their alignment with the People's Protection Units, which Turkey considers an extension of the Kurdish Workers' Party, labeled a terrorist group by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation ally.

Erdogan's second major demand will be the extradition of Fethullah Gulen, the self-exiled Islamic cleric who resides in Pennsylvania and whom Erdogan accuses of masterminding last year's failed coup against him.

"Every single one of these weapons that are being provided to our partner force, we intend to account for them, and to ensure that they are pointed at ISIS", said Dorrian, referring to the Islamic State group.

Claiming that the protection of civilians was the Syrian government's first objective in agreeing to the zones, he added: "The second objective is to give the militants who want reconciliation with the state a chance ... to settle their cases, hand over their weapons in return for amnesty".

Turkey insists that this Kurdish group is a terrorist organization but has failed to convince Washington and other members of the US -led coalition against ISIL. "I want to consider all the information we have received so far (on USA arming Syrian Kurds) as hearsay".

"What we are seeing is a deterioration of the alliance", said Jonathan Schanzer, senior vice president of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, a Washington think tank. "Turkey has never and will never hit its allies anywhere, and that includes the U.S.in Syria", he said in a tweet posted shortly after Wednesday's radio interview.

Before they were walking the streets with their heads low."The Arsenal fans are happy and I am happy for them". Mourinho made eight changes to the team that beat Celta Vigo in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final.

Yildirim also said that he was seeking to raise Turkey's "solidarity" with Britain, in the light of its decision to leave the European Union following a referendum. A senior American official said the US will step up joint intelligence-sharing with the Turks to help them better target terrorists.

"Right now there are certain moves in the United States coming from the past, such as the weapons assistance to the YPG", he said.

"After Brexit we will have a free trade agreement prepared and signed as soon as possible between the United Kingdom and Turkey", he said.

Trump's decision to arm Kurdish militias in Syria has faced strong opposition from the Turkish president.

Up to date, Turkey's fighting against ISIS is the most effective, others countries weren't successful in it, stressed President Erdogan. Earlier, Mr Erdogan expressed support for Trump when the USA government fired missiles at Syrian planes in retaliation for a chemical weapons attack in April.

In a tweet sent a day after hosting Merkel at the White House, Trump said the U.S. Turkey wants the arms agreement reversed.
