United States federal prosecutors have issued grand jury subpoenas to associates of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn as part of the FBI's ongoing investigation of Russia's alleged interference with the 2016 U.S. presidential elections.
Former Trump adviser Roger Stone says he will "fully comply" with the Senate intelligence committee's request for information and documents relating to its Russian Federation investigation.
Burr has said he was troubled by the Comey firing but would continue to press ahead with his investigation wherever it leads.
Weeks before the Senate committee requested the documents, Flynn reportedly sought immunity from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and members of Congress in exchange for testifying.
The subpoenas indicate a broadening of the FBI's investigation started last July into possible ties between Trump campaign associates and Russian Federation.
We made a request for documents and he didn't turn them over voluntarily so, we're going to subpoena them and get them with a subpoena, " Lankford said.

The tools were leaked on the web earlier this year when hackers dumped a cache of NSA files following a security breach. Russian Federation is reported to have been hit the hardest, with its Interior Ministry falling victim of the attack.
The subpoena was announced a day after Trump created shockwaves when he unexpectedly sacked FBI Director James Comey. "For the president to fire someone who has him under active investigation is in my view an abuse of power", Connecticut Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal said on Tuesday.
It's a move likely to decimate the FBI's investigation of alleged ties between Trump and Russian intelligence agencies during the 2016 election.
The committee's request comes as the panel prepares for a Thursday hearing that will feature the testimony of acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe and other national security officials.
According to NBC, it marks the first time the committee had used its subpoena power since its 9/11 inquiry.
Flynn's lawyer, Robert Kelner, has said that Flynn was not hiding anything, noting that he briefed the DIA on his trip to Russian Federation.
Flynn has been accused by senior lawmakers on Capitol Hill of violating the law for taking payments from groups associated with foreign governments without first seeking permission, which he was required to do as a retired lieutenant general. He later worked as a foreign agent on behalf of a Turkish businessman, while serving as a top Trump campaign adviser.
