Trump has maintained he is committed to taking the USA out of the accord, which would severely weaken the agreement as the United States is the world's second-largest polluter.
"If Trump withdraws from the accord, it will be a hard blow but not a surprise", Seyni Nafo, chief negotiator for the Africa Group, told AFP.
Chairman of the talks, Moroccan Foreign Minister Salaheddine Mezouar, said global momentum to combat climate change was irreversible and it would be "difficult or foolish" for anyone to defy public pressure for action.
President Trump has previously said he believes there is no evidence that humans are responsible for climate change.
"We all continue to hope the USA will find a way to remain within the Paris Agreement and to remain committed to the Paris goals", said Miguel Arias Cañete, the European commissioner for climate action and energy, in a statement.
There is a wide rift in the administration regarding the climate agreement, with some officials publicly airing their opinions on whether Trump should exit the accord or not.
During his presidential campaign, Mr. Trump pledged to withdraw from the agreement completely.
On April 18, the White House postponed a similar meeting about the agreement due to "scheduling conflicts".
President Trump has threatened to pull the plug on US involvement of the Paris Agreement ahead of the G7 Summit in Italy later this month, spurring major companies to speak out in support of continued climate change efforts.

"It's high time Trump stops putting the misguided demands of the extremists in his inner circle above those of the vast majority of the American people, and if he is serious about protecting our national security and strengthening the US's global leadership role, supporting the Paris Agreement is the first step".
At the Tuesday briefing, Spicer was repeatedly asked by reporters about the Paris decision, and he affirmed that Trump "wants to make sure that he has an opportunity to continue to meet with his team to create the best strategy for this country going forward".
The United States is the world's no. 2 carbon polluter, after China.
Numerous speakers at a plenary session Monday stressed that the deal can not be "renegotiated" - a proposal of Trump's Energy Secretary Rick Perry.
The move follows a separate letter from over 200 top investors totalling $15tr in assets under management who similarly called for all G7 states to reassert their commitment to the Paris Agreement.
The conversation between Macron and Trump is the latest in a series of moves by the worldwide and business community to urge the White House to remain a signatory to the Paris Agreement.
Some fear a US U-turn would dampen enthusiasm among other signatories for more efforts on emissions-cutting targets.
