San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker has a ruptured left quadriceps tendon and will miss the remainder of the playoffs, the team announced Thursday.

After a miserable Game 1 performance, the Spurs rolled to a 121-96 victory last night to tie their series with the Rockets. Through eight games, he averaged 15.9 points on a cool 52.6 percent shooting from the floor, and 57.9 percent from three. Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich opted to start rookie Dejounte Murray for Parker, and the youngster had a rough go of it against the rugged Patrick Beverley. Capela finished with 12 points and 16 rebounds.Houston lost for the first time at home this postseason after winning their first three games. "And tonight I just tried to take my shots and be confident and even if they didn't fall I just stayed with it". He's fifth in total playoff assists with 1,137 and ninth in total playoff scoring with 4,012 points.

Game 3 is Friday night at Toronto's Air Canada Centre, where the Raptors will have the crowd on their side.

"He's always been a heck of a player, as we know from all the way back in OKC days", Popovich said, "But that confidence has really propelled him and I think he's added to his game the understanding that he can make a whole lot of people better".

Tony Parker was the guy in San Antonio that held that offense together.

Parker is in his 16th season in the National Basketball Association and has helped the Spurs to four National Basketball Association titles in the past.

Clapper said he could not comment because the issue could be a subject of an ongoing investigation. And as a result, Lindsey Graham is now more interested himself in learning more about that.

"What he brings to their team, I don't know how you replace that", Rockets forward Trevor Ariza told reporters in Houston.

With Parker out, backup Patty Mills could move into a starting role and the Spurs likely will give Leonard more ball-handling responsibility. The Spurs have now regained homecourt advantage in the series and now lead 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.

"You lose a good player - somebody else has to step up".

The Spurs have been able to get away with Gasol and Aldridge on the floor, two bigs against Houston, and you wonder if D'Antoni will double down on his strategy and go smaller with Ryan Anderson at the five for stretches.

The Golden State Warriors remain prohibitive title favorites as long as they keep their core together, but that doesn't mean the Spurs can't still strive for 60 wins and a good playoff run year in and year out.

It is not only that they have a ideal group of players, as more that it is play wonderful together. Mills was more than ready to lead the San Antonio Spurs as a point guard.
