The detention of Kim Hak-Song means that the North is now holding four USA nationals, with the two countries at loggerheads over Pyongyang's nuclear and missile ambitions.

Even though USFK operates arsenal of weapons and equipment to monitor and spy on North Korea, it lacks human intelligence, which makes it hard to gather and analyse accurate information about the North.
