Could the Foxes one today return to the Champions League?
Brave Leicester's Champions League dream ended as they were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Atletico Madrid.
It was the end not only of Leicester's first foray in European soccer's elite competition, but also the incredible ascent of the modest central England club that had gatecrashed the soccer hierarchy in a run that captured global attention.
Shakespeare, 53, has had a stunning impact since succeeding the sacked Claudio Ranieri, steering Leicester clear of the relegation zone and masterminding a 2-0 second-leg win over Sevilla. "They need to be a mid-table team with the players they've got".

The final half-hour was virtually one-way traffic, but Atletico repelled everything Leicester threw at them. "He caused plenty of problems in the area". Hopefully it is no more but I've only just seen him briefly at the end.
"We are still alive", Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare said.
But whatever the future brings, Leicester have been on a journey that neither their fans, their players, nor the world of football will ever forget.
Leicester, though, was blown away from kickoff by the sharper, vastly more experienced visitors, featuring nine starters from last year's final loss.
'The ride may be over, ' as Morgan eventually concluded, but there's no doubt Leicester stand on the brink of something rare in this day and age: redefining themselves as a club for the years to come.
But they have never won the title, losing to local rivals Real Madrid in both 2014 and 2016, and could be set to face them again as Los Blancos saw off Bayern Munich in Tuesday's other game.
"But there will be no complaints from the players or anyone if he does get the job".
