Wenger avoids future discussion after Palace loss

Some travelling fans told Wenger it was "time to go", also singing "you're not fit to wear the shirt" at the players, as Arsenal were convincingly beaten at relegation-threatened Palace.

The defeat leaves Arsenal seven points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City, putting their hopes of UEFA Champions League qualification in serious jeopardy.

Wenger, who is out of contract at the end of the season, might not be the only one leaving the Emirates this summer... But Wenger, who has repeatedly refused to say what he intends to do, was in no mood to discuss his own future after the defeat.

"The biggest thing is letting the fans down tonight". We came back into the game and had some risky situations that we couldn't score from. "My person at the moment, and especially tonight, I think it would be inconvenient to speak about me tonight".

"I think the weaknesses of Arsenal have been defensive, because they leave (Shkodran) Mustafi and Gabriel really exposed", he said. "Incredible victory. The boys are full of confidence at the minute".

Palace led through Andros Townsend's close-range finish, doubling their lead when Yohan Cabaye's shot looped in.

In a recent Boston Globe opinion piece, Eldridge said solitary confinement makes it hard for prisoners to readjust to society. The law states that a conviction can be vacated if the defendant dies before exhausting all legal appeals.

Arsenal's defending was shambolic early in the second half.

The possession advantage mattered for little as the hosts broke quickly on the counter-attack, exploiting space down the flanks and taking their chances clinically. "But judging from that performance tonight, it looks like [we have]".

Arsenal legend Ian Wright claimed Wenger has lost the support of his players and even the Gunners boss admitted Palace had shown more passion. "When you are a big club you want to win every game, so that is normal".

Fan protests against Wenger have continued and the 67-year-old said he understood supporters' frustrations.

When the 50ft elephant in the room about his future at the club was finally addressed he said: "Geoff, I don't know", (the interviewee was called Geoff, this isn't a French way of addressing the big guy).
