The victim was first treated on the beach before being taken to the hospital, where she was treated for serious leg injuries, Australia's 9News reported. Nine News said the girl's mother alerted emergency services and that a beachgoer performed CPR for 30 minutes until paramedics arrived. Police have not said what type of shark was responsible.
