While issuing an arrest warrant, officials in the OH city on Monday said the suspect, Steve Stephens, 37, shot his 74-year old victim Robert Godwin at random on Easter Sunday, in cold blood. Police said the suspect, 37-year-old Steve Stephens, uploaded the video he took of the heinous act to Facebook.
Facebook condemned the killing, calling it an "horrific crime" and said that it works hard to "keep a safe environment on Facebook".
The suspect, identified as Steve Stephens, is considered armed and unsafe, the police said after the homicide in north-east Cleveland near the Lake Erie shore.
Police have warned residents of the surrounding states of Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana and MI to be on the lookout for Stephens, who they said may have travelled out of Ohio. Authorities are considering Stephens to be armed and risky and suggest that anyone who believes they know of his whereabouts do not approach him and contact law enforcement immediately. In a separate video he claimed to have killed more than a dozen others.
There were at least nine GoFundMe pages set up online soliciting funds to help Godwin's family, but Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams said the family is asking people not to contribute to any of those pages because they weren't set up by the family. Stephens did appear on the livestream section of the platform at some point during the day, boasting that he had killed over a dozen people, though the police have not been able to verify his claims. I don't know what I will do - it's not real! Godwin didn't seem to recognize the woman's name. "He could be far away or anywhere in between", Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Stephen Anthony said on Day 2 of the manhunt for Steve Stephens, a 37-year-old job counselor for teens and young adults.
Williams said anyone helping hide Stephens will also face charges. She asked that if anyone sees the video of the murder, please don't share it.
The victim's son, Robert Godwin Jr., said his father was a retired foundry worker and was a "good guy".

The worst play of the game also came from the Marlins as Justin Bour beats a throw home but missed home plate on his awful slide. Syndergaard allowed two runs, one earned, in six innings before he departed after throwing 87 pitches.
He said that his father had stopped by his house on Sunday morning to pick up some basketball equipment for one of his other sons.
Stephens, described by police as a bald and bearded, 6-foot-1-inch black man at 240 pounds, may be driving a new model of a white Ford Fusion with a temporary license plate.
"Any problems he is having, we can have a conversation", Jackson said.
"She's the reason that this is about to happen to you", Stephens told Goodwin before pointing a gun at him.
Whereabouts: The Dayton Daily News reports that Stephens was last seen south of Interstate 90 in the area of East 93rd in Cleveland.
"He's a good guy", he said.
