GETTY Didier Drogba says he would have loved to have played under Chelsea boss Antonio Conte "Chelsea is home for me".

Reports in Italy have suggested that Inter Milan could make a move for Conte, whose Chelsea side are four points clear at the top of the Premier League ahead of their match at Manchester United on Sunday.

"I read a lot of bad things about him, asking why is he coming back to Chelsea because in the past he performed bad, that he is not a defender, that we had spent a lot of money on him".

"I like to think results are important, but they are not everything".

"Chelsea is home for me", he added. I don't want to lose.

Chelsea's three man defence has been integral to their success this season but the last defender to win the annual award was John Terry back in the 2004-05 season as he led Chelsea to their first title in exactly 50 years. His role is a crucial role for us, and I think he has performed very well.

The Portuguese manager, who was sacked by Chelsea in December 2015 after a calamitous run of results, claimed that he drew a flurry of flaks for employing largely the similar style of play as Conte during his time at Stamford Bridge. "We were sure we were taking a really good player and put him again as one of the best defenders in Europe and, I hope, in the world".

"He has good technique, he's strong, can start our possession and has the personality to do this". When I was winning titles with Chelsea you were criticising the style of play. We are top and want to keep this position. For this reason, Paolo Maldini never won the Best Player in the World award.

Such is Ibrahimovic's importance to the team that next favourites Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are lagging behind at a lengthier 21/10 (3.10) and 9/4 (3.25) respectively, although neither may be called upon to start the match.

"I must be pleased for all these motives".
