The Latest on an underground gas leak causing part of a major highway in metro Atlanta to buckle.
The Georgia Department of Transportation says the buckled stretch of Interstate 20 should be fixed by midday on Tuesday.
Spokeswoman Natalie Dale says fix crews are using ground penetration radar to make sure the area is safe.
According to GDOT, crews were working underneath the interstate filing an abandoned gas line with concrete when something went wrong and the road buckled.

An underground gas leak between Candler and Gresham on I-20 caused a defect in the road around 11 a.m., a DeKalb County police spokesperson said. A motorcyclist hit the rising pavement at high speed and was critically injured after being flung into the air.
A man who witnessed the sudden buckling said he saw a motorcyclist crash when the freeway began to contort. DeKalb County spokesman Andrew Cauthen said he was hospitalized with multiple fractures.
I-20 westbound entrance ramps inside the Perimeter at Columbia Drive, Candler Road and Flat Shoals Road are closed. The bump in the road is about three feet high.
