Liverpool has reclaimed third place in the Premier League table with a 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

However, in first-half stoppage-time, Firmino was the quickest to react to Lucas Leiva's flicked header towards the back post and nodded in from close range to put Liverpool ahead.

Roberto Firmino scored a victor for the second weekend running as Liverpool beat West Brom to go third in the Premier League. "I would have been happy for him, actually, if he'd scored this goal, but [there was] excitement until the end, which is pretty much always the way it is when we are involved". Just weeks after tearing Arsenal apart using similar tactics, West Brom came unstuck on Sunday.

"It's one of the most hard places to go to because you can not feel comfortable in any moment".

With Ben Foster caught upfield trying to score - Pulis made it clear to his goalkeeper afterwards that he never wants to see that again - Liverpool broke away and Moreno had options to his left and right.

"At the end it doesn't look that spectacular, but he was really good around the set-pieces, I think with four or five fists", said the German, who dropped Mignolet earlier in the season.

'At the moment, Jurgen Klopp has Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.

Sandoval had tied the score 4-4 in the third when he homered off Alex Cobb , who gave up four runs and 11 hits in five innings. He has 29 strikeouts in 21 2/3 innings, allowing 11 hits. "We had a few opportunities, but were unable to hold the lead".

Liverpool have triumphed at two of the league's toughest venues where the hopes of many big teams have been sunk in recent years. "It didn't work [that way] each week in the last few months but today it was really good and I'm happy about it".

In the 80th minute, darting into the area, Phillips had only Mignolet to beat but the Belgium goalkeeper did well to spread himself, sticking out a leg for the block. Pulis added: "We've had the opportunities again and especially against the top teams you have to take your chances".

Matt Phillips: A willing runner but missed West Brom's best chance of the game when he should really have scored.

'Three points today, so 66, that's a wonderful number for the next six or seven days.

"I think ultimately if we secure top four, people will look at how we strengthen the squad for next season".

"We've got Tony Pulis", home fans had sung in the opening minutes, as if to signal what type of occasion this would be.

Liverpool substitute Alberto Moreno eyed up West Brom's unguarded goal but like all other attempts during the second half, his shot was off target.
