Will There Be A Nuclear War Between North Korea And US?

Chinese experts can see little immediate possibility of hostilities breaking out between the USA and North Korea - but warned that Beijing will respond harshly to any further North Korean nuclear tests.

"Anyone who provokes war on the Korean Peninsula will assume responsibility and pay the price", said the minister.

NBC News reported late Thursday the United States may launch a preemptive strike against North Korea in response to a nuclear weapons test, but others are challenging the report.

With that backdrop, North Korea's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Han Song Ryol sat down with Tracy in Pyongyang for a 40 minute interview, and he didn't mince any words. "It's not hard to see that ever since the United States and Republic of Korea made a decision to deploy THAAD, the situation has not become harmonious but has become more tense", Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang, said in response to a question about the system. "Dialogue can be the only channel to resolve the problem".

But now, one North Korean official is putting all the blame on Pres. Trump. and his tweets.

"We call on all parties to refrain from provoking and threatening each other, whether in words or actions, and not let the situation get to an irreversible and unmanageable stage", Mr Wang said.

Han said the situation between the US and North Korea is the worst it has ever been, and if provoked, his country is ready and willing to fight a war.

A conflict over North Korea could break out "at any moment", China's foreign minister Wang Yi said Friday, warning there would be "no winner" in any war as tensions soar with the US. He said the United States and President Donald Trump were making trouble in the region, citing Trump's tweets and the USA for moving an aircraft carrier into the region and for participating in its largest-ever joint military exercises with South Korea.

Russia vetoes UN resolution on Syrian investigation
More than 80 people were killed in what the US has described as a nerve gas attack that Assad's forces undoubtedly carried out. U.S. officials have said that there is "no doubt" that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is responsible for the attack.

China today warned its ally North Korea against carrying out a nuclear test, saying such a "dangerous and irresponsible" move could lead to a breakout of conflict at any moment amid soaring tensions with the US.

He urged "all parties" to not take any steps that would escalate "a very sensitive and complex situation".

On Thursday, CBS News was there as Kim cut the ribbon to open a large new residential neighborhood in Pyongyang - a gesture clearly created to show North Korea can survive further US economic sanctions, and continue its nuclear program.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Geng Shuang, said the North Korean nuclear test "would be risky and irresponsible".

Outside experts say the North could conduct its sixth nuclear test at virtually anytime. "We've got a powerful nuclear deterrent already in our hands, and we certainly will not keep our arms crossed in the face of a USA pre-emptive strike". If not, he wrote that the United States of America and its allies will do the job.

"UNSC resolution stated clearly that DPRK (North Korea) should give up all nuclear and missile related programmes".

The United States has deployed a strike group, including a large aircraft carrier, to the Korean Peninsula, and North Korea has said it is ready for war.
