After some sad news, the Minnesota Vikings offered some kind words about the career of Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney.
The greatest of all Steelers, though, in the strictest sense, has been Dan Rooney.
The Steelers announced his death, but other details were not immediately available. Rooney inherited the role of team owner from his father, Art Rooney, in 1975.
He was a powerful force within the league. Among his contributions to the league was the Rooney Rule, which required NFL teams to interview minority candidates for coaching and front-office positions. - Pro Football Hall of Fame President and CEO David Baker.
