The report said the early development of the S9 is largely due to the strengthened quality control process after the Note fiasco past year. This is especially relevant to the USA as the last infamous Note 7 was the last phone the company released in the United States, the Note lineup being Samsung's most advanced phones.
Samsung's sales results for its high-end smartphones fell short of expectations in the first quarter as consumers' confidence in the brand had yet to fully recover from the recall of Galaxy Note 7.
The company is offering up 24K gold, platinum and 18K rose gold version of the latest edition of Samsung's Galaxy smartphone. TrendForce estimates that the global smartphone production volume for this second quarter will register a modest single-digit growth versus the preceding three-month period. Because we have to take this rumour with a pinch of salt for now, there's always the possibility this is just a photoshopped Galaxy S8 Plus with an S Pen put next to it. The researcher believes the Galaxy S8 will help Samsung maintain relatively flat sales in the upcoming quarters, but won't significantly increase the company's sales.
Oil demand growth seen slowing for a second year
Last year, global demand briefly outpaced daily supply in the third quarter, by 330,000 barrels a day. On Thursday, the worldwide benchmark for crude oil was up 2 cents at $55.88 a barrel.

According to the rumors, Apple might have a few tricks up its sleeve for the iPhone 8. TrendForce points out that the slightly lower QoQ decline is accounted for, in part, by strong sales of the recently launched iPhone 7 (PRODUCT) RED. The remaining two handsets will reportedly come with modest upgrades over last year's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models.
