The Patriots also have won the AFC East Division eight consecutive years and 14 of the past 16 seasons.
As King pointed out, "there wasn't a speck of disrespect or smack talk about the Patriots" in Landry's comments.
Jarvis Landry predicted the Dolphins would sweep the Patriots this season.
"If you're a competitor, that's the way you should feel, and I don't mind saying it", Landry said of his sweep prediction. "It's time for a change". I have all the respect in the world for the Patriots, and I respect (New England quarterback) Tom Brady tremendously. "But they're not our big brother anymore", is what he said according to Peter King.
Landry is confident the team will have great success against the defending Super Bowl champs next year, despite the Patriots basically owning the division since it came into existence.
US, Canada, Mexico launch joint 2026 World Cup bid
The biggest one could be that a bid among three countries has never been done before. The 2026 tournament will be the first of the new 48-team, 80-game format.
Brady has more toys now than "Richie Rich", and Landry expects a Dolphins team that was inconsistent on offense, downright awful stopping the run and middle-of-the-pack defending the pass to beat the Patriots twice in one season.
Landry did his part in the two games, combining for 211 yards on 19 catches.
Fact: the Patriots have not been swept by an AFC East opponent since 2000, when both the Dolphins and the New York Jets managed the feat.
Jarvis Landry is thinking big. The Dolphins will enter Gase's second season with expectations higher than we've seen in years.
Landry also had high-praise for head coach Adam Gase, who led the Dolphins to the playoffs for the first time since 2008, when they won the AFC East. Some will think that Landry is insane for such a prediction, but I like it. Landry is simply proving himself as a leader of this team. Maybe the Dolphins can back up Landry's words. For the players they lost in free agency, they acquired or signed players of equal or better skill sets. And I want to be part of that change. Once the game starts, the Patriots shift their focus to executing their game plan and not worrying about the other team. Until the Patriots show real cracks in the armor, there's little reason to doubt that Brady will once again put little brother in his place.
