The Sauk County Sheriff's Department and Wisconsin State Patrol give new details into the crash that killed a state trooper from Tomah early Tuesday morning.
According to Sauk County Sheriff's Office, around 4:30 AM the communications center received a report of a single vehicle crash on Interstate 90 / 94 near the eastbound mile marker 89.
The Sauk County Sheriff's Office stated that Borostowski lost control of the vehicle about one mile later, went off the road and entered the south ditch before slamming into a tree. An investigation is underway.
Governor Scott Walker released a statement Tuesday after learning Trooper Borostowski died in the line of duty after his patrol auto struck a tree.
Walker released a statement saying he met Borostowski in 2015 when the trooper received the State Patrol's Lifesaving Award after performing CPR on a man.
"Tonette and I send our prayers to Anthony's family, as they grieve the loss of their love one", Walker said.
Walker said Borostowski was a staff sergeant in the Wisconsin National Guard. The Trooper was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Sauk County Coroner.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff's Office.

An executive order lowering the flags of the United States and Wisconsin in honor of Trooper Borostowski is forthcoming.
Sauk County officials say the crash on Interstate 90/94 Tuesday morning involved a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper.
"He wanted to serve his country", said the trooper's aunt, Mary Inhoff said.
"He was always there for you if you needed him", she said. "Obviously we are very sad about that", Walker said. Gen. Donald Dunbar, the Wisconsin adjutant general. He just didn't serve the citizens of Wisconsin with our agency, but also served since 2004 with the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
Borostowski's numerous military awards include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (2nd award), the Iraqi Campaign Medal, The Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Combat Action Badge, the Humanitarian Service Medal and the Drill Sergeant's Badge, according to the release.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department shared several photos via Twitter at the UW Hospital in honor of the fallen trooper.
Emergency responders discovered an on-duty Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper had crashed.
