Manchester United target Antoine Griezmann has ended talk of leaving Atletico Madrid for their city rivals Real Madrid.

The Catalans, who had Neymar sent off, have also played a game more than Real. "We were confident before the game and determined to put in a good performance", he told beIN Sports.

Zidane's men did not have to wait too much longer for the breakthrough goal, though, finally finding a way past Oblak 52 minutes in through a Pepe header, which he guided into the far corner at the end of a Toni Kroos delivery.

The stalemate in the Spanish capital derby left leader Real three points ahead of Barcelona, which visited Malaga later Saturday.

"Griezmann would never allow me to demand of him to stay", Simeone said.

The expensively assembled trio have frequently been blamed by the Spanish media for Real's unconvincing attacking displays this season, however, with the team relying on other parts of the team, not least defender Sergio Ramos, for goals. Yes, a draw earned them a point and pushed Real's lead to three points, but the dropped points opened the door for Barca to leapfrog them in the standings by the day's end.
