Minnesota improves to 9-0, while the Nittany Lions drop to 8-1. Despite the score, Clifford was injured after he handed the ball off to Brown.

BEST SACK Pinned deep in their territory, Clifford and the offense found themselves in an even more precarious position when Minnesota defensive tackle Esezi Olomewo gobbled up the quarterback.

Clifford, who went 23 for 43 for 340 yards and one score, connected with Jahan Dotson for 49 yards to get Penn State to the 11. Pry's unit came up with the first big play of the third quarter though, as Keaton Ellis and Lamont Wade forced a fumble that Shaka Toney recovered. The Nittany Lions defeated the Huskies 35-28.

The Minnesota run game wasn't great - it averaged just 3.0 yards per rush - but it kept the Penn State defense honest, allowing Tanner Morgan to pick apart the overmatched PSU secondary all afternoon. Fellow receiver Tyler Johnson amassed 104 yards on seven catches with a touchdown while Chris-Autman Bell also caught a touchdown pass.

That lead was 24-13 at halftime and 31-19 early in the fourth quarter.

Anne Schuchat, principal deputy director at the CDC, called it a "breakthrough" in their investigation. He described vitamin E Acetate as "oily - not kind of a common oil, but it's an oily substance".

"It just takes a lot of stress off you", Penn State running back Journey Brown said.

Penn State was a slim 6.5-point favorite on the road against Minnesota, as both teams entered Saturday's Big Ten matchup with ideal 8-0 records. Coming off a quick possession to open the second half, the Gophers moved the ball enough to give Herbers a flawless opportunity to pin the Nittany Lions deep, which he did with a 36-yard attempt down to Penn State's 9-yard line. The score gave the Gophers a 14-7 lead and demonstrated the true potency Minnesota's offense was bringing to the field. Two plays later, however, came the drive killer for Penn State. Along with the missed opportunity, the 5-point deficit turned into 12 points on the next Gopher touchdown.

Penn State went the other way for a touchdown pass from Clifford to backup tight end Nick Bowers, but Bateman broke open again for a 36-yard gain on the next drive to set up a scoring plunge by Seth Green. The Golden Gophers are going to need to run the football and play defense here in order to hang around with Penn State.
