Compared with 4G, which launched back in 2012, EE's new 5G network is claimed to offer increased speeds, reliability and connectivity.

This was "a move that makes sense for now", added the analyst who said a lot of uncertainty surrounded 5G in light of the recent security concerns engulfing Huawei. EE is also launching 5GEE WiFi with the HTC 5G Hub, which will be available with an upfront cost of £100 and with 50GB of data per month for £50 per month, or for £75 per month with 100GB.

Vodafone UK took the same step, stopping pre-orders for the handset before the launch of its network.

EE will switch on its 5G service in London, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast, Birmingham and Manchester on Thursday, 30 May. As you'd expect EE will also launch this alongside several new 5G plans (SIM-Only and handset bundles), including a range of six supporting smartphones (Samsung S10 5G, OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, LG V50 ThinQ and Oppo Reno 5G) and devices (e.g. a 5GEE Home router with external antenna that can connect individual homes to ultrafast broadband).

The telecoms firm announced earlier this year it would test its 5G mobile network during Glastonbury as part of its trials of the technology.

This will have a negative impact on 5G consumer takeup in the short term.

Canadian-trained horse War of Will wins Preakness Stakes
The last horse to win both the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes was Afleet Alex in 2005. "He got me against the wall in the gate". As a result, jockey John Velazquez was thrown from the horse and landed on the dirt amid the traffic of the other 12 horses.

The core is where the most sensitive functions occur, including device authentication, voice and data-routing and billing.

But the first phase of its 5G network will run on top of the existing 4G network - using Huawei equipment as part of the radio access network. "At the moment we have no instructions [from government] to change our plans".

Two Japanese mobile carriers said Wednesday they are delaying the sale of new smartphones from Huawei as they confirm the safety of the Chinese products.

"There is little interoperability between vendors, which means it is hard to deploy non-Huawei 5G equipment alongside existing Huawei 4G equipment".

The plan is for it to reach 1,500 sites by the end of 2019.

Ten more towns and cities will get services in 2020, including Aberdeen, Cambridge, Derby, Gloucester, Peterborough, Plymouth and Portsmouth. Phones you can choose from include the newly United Kingdom launched Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, the LG V50 ThinQ 5G, the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, and the Oppo Reno 5G (with the cheapest offer being the Oppo with £70 upfront cost, 10GB allowance, one swappable benefit (such as a video data pass) and a cost of £54pcm over 24 months).
