The Jets unveiled their new Nikefied uniforms on Thursday night, and they match the uniforms worn by six players in a photo that hit social media on Wednesday.

"New York" appears in small white letters on the chest of the jersey, the first time in team history the city name appears on the uniform.

"Our new uniforms are built to perform on the world's biggest stage and are inspired by the toughness, grit, and resilience of the New York City area", Jets team president Neil Glatt said at the unveiling.

The shiny helmet is all green, replacing the white headgear the players wore the last 20 years. A new secondary logo was also created for the helmets. It features an updated shape, color, and connecting design of the football.

And here's what the new white uniform looks like. The need to integrate a new, supposedly fresher look, without straying too far away from tradition and the sense of familiarity fans love is particularly tricky. Also in attendance were Jets current players and Legends, WWE Superstars, and a variety of other celebrities and influencers. The Jets introduced each uniform individually with a short video on their official Twitter account and described the new jerseys as "the beginning of a new legacy". A new linear design, resembling a jet's flight trail, runs across the shoulders and down the pant legs.

The Jets received a lot of feedback from football fans after making the announcement, with the reception being largely mixed.

"These words represent the identity of the franchise moving forward".

The Jets are making the change from hunter green to Gotham green.
