Funeral plans were announced Sunday for a college student from New Jersey, who was murdered after getting into a vehicle that she mistook for an Uber ride in SC, according to police there, who also shared more details about the arrest of the murder suspect.
Around 8:45 p.m. on Friday: Columbia Police Department tweeted a picture of Josephson and asked for the public's help locating her. Officers worked through the evening to find out what happened to Josephson before she got into the vehicle.
Nathaniel David Rowland, 24, faces charges of murder and kidnapping in the death of Samantha Josephson, according to Columbia police.
Police say a college student from New Jersey who disappeared after a night out with friends was murdered.
Chief Holbrook said Ms Josephson's blood had been found in the boot of Mr Rowland's vehicle, along with her mobile phone, some bleach, window cleaning products and cleaning wipes.
Police in SC say the man had activated the child locks in his backseat so the doors could only be opened from the outside.
Police said Rowland is not a driver for ride-share companies Uber or Lyft.

Josephson was a senior political science major from Robbinsville, New Jersey.
"What we have learned is. you guys have to travel together at night", he said.
