The Sacramento Kings are closing in on a trade for Dallas Mavericks forward Harrison Barnes, according to a report from Shams Charania of Stadium.

Barnes was on the bench for Dallas at the time as they beat the Charlotte Hornets 99-93. "I got word of it during the game and so that is why he didn't play down the stretch, obviously".

He joins the Kings after spending the last two-plus seasons in Dallas, where he was averaging 17.8 points (.406 FG%,.390 3pt%,.833 FT%), 4.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 49 contests this season, all starts. He's just a generally good dude. "When a player gets traded, it's they was doing what's best for the franchise".

LeBron James noticed how unusual that was and took to social media to call out a double-standard he feels exists between when players make business decisions and when teams do it. I'm OK with both honestly. "Just call a ♠️ a ♠️!", wrote James on Instagram.

"I was on daddy daycare, so it was 'there you go!' Straight back down to earth - changing nappies and doing school runs", he said.

Earlier on Wednesday we rolled out our NBA Trade Deadline primer on which former University of North Carolina Tar Heels players could be on the move before Thursday afternoon.

Barnes left the American Airlines Center without talking to the media but did post on social media later Wednesday. A great influence on the team, also in this community.

Doncic went from having the proverbial baton passed on to him from franchise star Dirk Nowitzki, to potentially sharing it with the newly-acquired Porzingis, who will join him once fully recovered from a season-ending ACL injury. Mark Cuban owes the man an apology. He will join a Sacramento team (28-26) on the cusp of a playoff spot in the Western Conference. I think everybody knows how close we were. "But just from [scouting], he's always on the scouting board".

After the deals, Sacramento won't have a player on its roster over the age of 30. Barnes has a player-option on his $25 million deal for the 2019-2020 season.
