She then referred to Alison as a "babe' and the fun exchange ended".

During Sunday night's festivities, Chrissy Metz came under internet fire after red carpet audio had some speculating that the This Is Us star called GLOW's Alison Brie a 'b***h'.

Metz has since vehemently denied she called Brie a b**ch.

"It's terribly unfortunate anyone would think much less run a story that was completely fabricated!"

According to Metz, Gibson had asked her whether she knew Alison Brie at the end of their interview, to which Metz responded, "Do I?" "If she did happen to use the "other" word, I promise it was 1,000 percent a joke".

Metz added that Brie is "somebody that I really revere" and shared that she and Brie had "already texted about" the gossip. The red carpet show's co-host, AJ Gibson, defended Metz in a statement to People, saying that the This Is Us actress said "babe", not "bitch".

Nicole Sperling, a reporter from Vanity Fair, even took a moment to ask Brie about the situation, of which she seemed to have little knowledge. "When I was walking up they said, 'Do you know Alison, ' and I said, 'Oh boy, do I.' I love her".

"I don't speak about anyone like that I don't speak like that. 'I know her. I saw her on the carpet and I told her how attractive she looked, '" wrote Sperling about Brie's response. "Alison and I obviously are friends. Rumors can't keep us down!"

Brie later posted on her Instagram account a picture of the two actresses together and said, "Nothing but love for @ChrissyMetz". Cheers to Metz and Brie, you're an inspiration! "I would never say anything like that about anyone".
