The new card is able to run Battlefield V at 1440p at over 60 FPS with RTX off, drops at about 50 with RTX on, but it jumps back up at over 60 with the help of DLSS.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang likened GeForce RTX-powered laptops to a gaming console platform, pointing out multiple times performance comparisons to traditional game consoles like the PlayStation 4.

If you can't stretch to one of the big boys-the 1080 Tis and 2080s-then an RTX 2070 card is the one for you. That said, the notebook packs a 17.3-inch display with either Full HD or 4K resolution, Intel 8th Gen Core i5, i7, or i9 processors, support for up to 32GB of RAM, dual SSD, and Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti or RTX 2060, 2070, and 2080 graphics cards.

All before the end of January, Nvidia will be bringing its GeForce RTX series to dozens of laptops and has announced the new GeForce RTX 2060.

Say hello to Nvidia's latest graphics card.

To get the price down to $349 for the RTX 2060, Nvidia had to make a few compromises. Of course, to get this particular card down to that price, a few tweaks were made - the GeForce RTX 2060 has 6GB of GDDR6 memory video memory, so noticeably less than other RTX cards which have 8GB plus.

Indeed, using a demo from Battlefield V during the unveiling event, the ray tracing effects (such as flames from off the screen reflecting in windows on screen) were immediately noticeable despite silky smooth frame rates. Other titles planning DLSS support include Anthem, Justice, and Atomic Heart. Nvidia also revealed that the more powerful RTX 2080 will be coming to laptops from Acer, Asus, Razer and more starting January 29. Currently, these models will ship with a 1080p, 144Hz G-Sync display.

It's not just performance that has been pushed forward with these new designs either, Nvidia is promising that they'll be thinner and lighter too. On top of this, older cards with the NVENC technology will also receive some speedups and optimizations, granting better video encoding all around for those with 700 series or newer Nvidia GPUs.
