The XFL hopes to deliver a fan-centric, innovative experience, including fast-paced games and a family friendly environment, complemented by cross-platform viewing options and real-time fan engagement. He introduced XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck.
Luck will join 710 ESPN Seattle's Bob, Groz and Tom at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday to talk about the XFL in Seattle.
"Combined these markets comprise almost a quarter of the nation's population", said XFL commissioner and CEO Oliver Luck at a news conference held at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium.
Luck stressed that the XFL will be "football reimagined" with "less stall, more ball". They also want to focus on player health and safety.
Luck says they will look for the best coaches and players available and majority will have college and National Football League experience. He wants a crisp game that takes less than three hours. Luck says they want to listen to fans and say they already have great ideas from them. He said there will be an app that will serve as the central hub for the league.

The Trump administration had unsuccessfully lobbied the Chinese government earlier this year to give its blessing to the deal. USA lawmakers also passed reforms earlier this year that increased CFIUS' scrutiny of deals.
"After months of research and consideration, we're thrilled to announce the cities and venues of the XFL's eight inaugural teams", said Luck. The press conference also promises to have more details on the state of the league.
It seems by placing XFL cities in famous National Football League locations, they are able to possibly capitalize on the downtime those fans might have in that market in the offseason. Team names will be assigned in 2019.
The league previously had one season in 2001.
In terms of selecting host cities for the XFL's first season, it was noted that more than 30 cities and venues expressed interest in participating, and that the league was looking for dedicated long-term partners rather than just a buildings to rent.
