It was just yesterday that Qualcomm announced its new Snapdragon 855 processor, but today we learned the first company that will use it: OnePlus.

Snapdragon 855's three performance cores clocked at 2.42GHz will be activated when a heavy app is launched in order to main fluidity.

Also during the event, Justin Denison, senior VP of mobile product strategy and marketing for Samsung Electronics America, discussed Samsung's commitment to 5G including bringing the first flagship 5G smartphone to the United States in the first half of 2019 using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 mobile chip with 5G X50 modem. The technology promises to significantly boost the speed, coverage and responsiveness of wireless networks. This means that with HEIF image files users can add a portrait depth of field effect to an image, even if they didn't use their phone's portrait mode functionality to capture the image originally. Meanwhile, support for HEIF images - which can store multiple versions of shots, depth maps, and more in a single file - should both maximize on-device storage and make it easier to share those images. Dissimilar to the optical fingerprint sensor found in most 2018 smartphones so far, Qualcomm's latest approach depends on depends on sound waves generated from under your smartphone's display to unlock your phone. That's a pretty big coup for a company that released its first device only four years ago.

Israel to expose Hezbollah attack tunnels from Lebanon
He has previously warned Israel that Hezbollah will react strongly against Israeli targets in response to any Israeli attack. The Lebanese Armed Forces went on high alert in southern Lebanon after the announcement, a security official told al-Nahar.

In addition, Qualcomm re-launched its ultrasonic, under-glass fingerprint sensor technology, called the Qualcomm 3D Sonic Sensor. However it seems we won't have long to wait.

Samsung has also confirmed that it plans to bring a mainstream 5G phone to market in the first half of 2019, so the company will have to work quickly to be able to achieve this. According to Lau, the next OnePlus flagship - presumably the OnePlus 7 - will be the first phone to feature the Snapdragon 855 when it debuts next year. Add to that the fact that most major carriers in the world, such as SK Telecom, LG Uplus and KT in South Korea, along with Verizon and AT&T in the USA have already started rolling out 5G networks. While each new generation of Snapdragon usually finds its way into flagship Android phones, it's unclear which models will run the Snapdragon 855 with 5G connectivity.
