Pittsburgh will continue to be without the services of star running back Le'Veon Bell, but will look to continue leaning on breakout star James Conner. "We know he's back in Pittsburgh, and so we're hoping to have some communications with him over the weekend, and we're kind of expecting he will be back next week".
Bell was rumored to be close to returning to the Steelers prior to the meeting with the Steelers after he tweeted that he's leaving Miami and was spotted playing pickup basketball in Pittsburgh. "There's now a real possibility that Bell won't report by the deadline".
Reports from earlier in the season suggested Bell needed to sign with the team by November 13 if he wanted to retain his free agent eligibility following the season.
On the Steelers' end, Carolina should expect to see a lot of James Conner, who now leads the AFC in rushing with 706 yards.
Lakers' issues continue with blowout loss at home to Raptors
Ibaka has reached double digits in points in 10 straight games, before fouling out at the nine minute mark of the fourth quarter. Toronto Raptors have a 10-1 record (6-5 against the spread ) so far this season and now sit in the first place of the East.
"If he doesn't want to play for $14.5 million, why would he want to play for $5 million?" the source told ESPN, referring to the prorated balance remaining on Bell's $14.5 million franchise tender. "So, there are questions that we may get to at the end of the season".
As talented as Bell is, the Steelers are showing they can live and succeed without him so far this season.
On Wednesday night, Bell posted two messages on his Twitter account in upside-down text, saying in part that he is "not apologizing" for his holdout. "I'm going to put it just like that". Don't judge me off my decision because maybe this isn't what you'd do.
