- A handful of voters in Guilford County, North Carolina, reported their ballot decisions on touchscreen voting machines were recorded incorrectly during early voting, which began October 17.

With one of the most crucial midterm elections in recent U.S. history less than a week away, early voter turnout appears to have almost doubled from 2014, shattering records along the way. Voters may cast their ballots there from 8 a.m.to 5 p.m. weekdays until Election Day when the voting hours will change to 7 a.m.to 8 p.m.to reflect the hours at the polls, or between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, and Sunday, Nov. 4.

In Robertson County, Clerk Joanie Jolly expects voters turnout of about 40 percent, she said.

The Registrar's Office has also set up 60 mail ballot drop-off locations throughout the county. There are several early voting sites across Chicago, suburban Cook County and the area's suburban counties. And for those who waited until the final day in lieu of early voting opportunities, knowing these basics can help make for a smooth voting experience.

If Democrats can keep up their numbers through Election Day on November 6, they would match or outperform their turnout in the primaries when they bested Republican turnout by a little more than half a point, despite having few local candidates for voters to choose from. As of November 2nd, 54,570 had returned their absentee ballots, up from 38,928 on October 30th of 2014 (the Thursday before that year's Election Day).

In that election, St. Johns County Republicans turned out more than 62 percent, or 52,208, of their registered voters.

With a minute left in the round, Lewis was at Cormier's mercy. "How insane must the guy that won be for them to go, 'Hey, man". Lewis landed a nice combo 30 seconds into the second round and even tried a switch kick as he stepped up the aggression.

If you already mailed in your absentee ballot and want to make sure it made it to your local elections office, here's how you can track it.

Though still outnumbered by more than 2 to 1 in terms of registered voters, county Democrats appear be making some strides in pushing turnout. There are now 30,524 active registered voters in the city and 78,253 in the county.

Obviously, the interest in 2018 has far exceeded the interest of the 2014 election, the last time Republicans were said to have won big.

So candidates like Democrat Stacey Abrams and Republican Brian Kemp in the Georgia governor's race are keeping their eye on how many non-2014 voters have cast ballots.

All voters who vote in person must provide identification.

Voters should bring their ID to the polls with them.
